Bath Soft Cheese πŸ§€πŸ˜€

An amazing afternoon spent at Bath Soft Cheese Company (@bathsoftcheese). We watched the ‘cheese-man’ doing something. Then of course tried all the cheeses they make. Absolutely delicious. I particularly liked their hard cheese – Wife of Bath. Then we had a sneak peek at their maturing cheeses. Brilliant and super tasty day πŸ˜€πŸ§€

Bath Noodle – wow 🍜

Wow! Amazing noodles from Noodle Bath. Recently opened and my first visit. Delicious. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The owner has only recently arrived from Hong Kong. She told us off authentic food from Hong Kong with ingredients specially sourced. I had spicy noodle soup with tofu. Fantastic flavours. It also had black fungus which I’ve never tried before. A sort of cross between water chestnut and mushroom in flavour. Very good and apparently very healthy. My wife had fried noodles with vegetables and tofu. Again really tasty. I would definitely recommend. 

Mackerel and smokey veg

Friedd mackerel and smokey paprika veggies with cous cous and cracked bulgar wheat. 

Dried, oil and a sprinkle of salt and fried mackerel fillets a couple of minutes each side. 

Chopped and sauted onion, aubergine, tomatoes, garlic and smoked paprika. 

Boiled cous cous and bulgar wheat for 10 minutes and added green beans for the last 3 minutes. 

Mixed veggies and cod cous bulgar wheat. Salt and pepper and lemon on mackerel and then eat!

Mackerel – my favourite πŸ˜€πŸŸ

I think mackerel is my favourite fish. And so cheap. Four fillets for Β£3:30. Dried the fillets with kitchen towel and then a drop of oil on the skin and a sprinkle of salt. Smoking hot pan and start skin side down. Only a few minutes each side. Deliciously fresh and succulent πŸŸπŸ˜€

Paprika salmon 🐟

Andd guess what I had for dinner? Yes that’s right, smoked paprika salmon. Exactly the same process as with the squid I had for lunch (see earlier post). Dust salmon in smoked paprika and flour. Shallow fry in oil about a minute each side. I had it with red pepper tomato sauce and roasted sweet potatoes. All totally delicious. Although everything on the plate was a bit orangey-red! πŸŸπŸ…πŸ 

Smoked paprika squid πŸ¦‘

Paprikaa squid rings. Lightly dusted squid rings in flour and smoked paprika. Fried about 1 minute a side. Delicious. I used frozen squid so super simple and super quick. I had it with some fried paprika courgettes and tomato red pepper sauce. Lovely lunch. πŸ˜ƒπŸ¦‘

Muesli happy

I’ve just discovered a mum at my son’s school makes the most amazing muesli. She makes many flavours but this batch was fig, sultana, poppy seed and almond with lemon clusters. She’s hoping to start selling it at Green Park Station market in Bath. Keep an eye out for Feed My Soul Muesli. I had it with yoghurt and blueberries. πŸ˜€
