I’m not always entirely sure what to do with left overs. But I do feel freer to experiment. Left over braised beef brisket and carrots, simple, throw them on a pizza. It tasted really good. The brisket was great on the pizza and the carrots added a bit of sweetness.
Experimenting with whole meal pizza dough. Very good. Still light and crispy but with an earthy body. First pizza is red pepper, aubergine, capers, anchovies, chillies, tomato and mozzarella. Second pizza is sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella, blue cheese, green olives, artichoke and chillies. Both of them delicious. Bring on the pizza 😀🍕
Had a fantastic pizza and garlic bread at the @bathpizzaco at Green Park Station in Bath. Delicious pizzas with really light dough, oozing melted cheese and tasty toppings. Plus it’s a great location in the grand covered arches of the old Green Park Station 😀 🍕
While we stayed at my mum’s we had a fantastic take away from Bosco Pizzeria (Clifton, North Bristol). It was delicious. We had pesto, pine nuts and spinach; artichoke, olive and parmesan; mushroom and ricotta; and hot n’duja sausage. I’ve eaten in the restaurant on other occasions and it’s great. Really friendly and warm atmosphere. The menu is all delicious 😀🍕
Whilee I was in London a friend of mine recommended the pizzeria Franco Manca (www.francomanca.co.uk). We went to the Kensington branch on Old Brompton Road.
It was trendy but relaxed atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. The menu was surprisingly good value. It was also reassuringly short, which I always like. Fewer choices make me happy.
I went for a pizza with capers, olives and anchovies. My wife a mushroom pizza. They were delicious. The dough was light and airy. It was just deliciously simple and wonderful in flavour.
The kids loved their pizza and garlic bread.
I had a bottle of their larger which was light and refreshing.
I visited my dad with my family over the weekend. I get my love of cooking and food from my parents. They’re my foundation.
When I arrived he mixed up some pizza dough from a Jamie Oliver recipe – www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/recipe/pizza-dough/. We left it to prove and then it was pizza time!
I formed the dough and made a classic margarita, one topped with asparagus, and one with salami. Put the oven on 300°c and they only took about 6mins each in the oven.
My dad also made a quick bruschetta that we put in the oven to heat through.
Totally delicious and the perfect lunch.
